Isolation and Intuition

Curious to understand your opinions regarding the dishonesty and conniving behavior of our kind. Especially locating a respective amount of solace in knowing you’ve experienced these things from individuals whom you’ve grown to trust with every fiber of your being. You create an impenetrable exterior, allowing no one in. You yourself are often unaware of the variables that reside below the threshold of your subconscious, contributing to this line of thinking. Why? Is isolation ideal?

Before getting to know who I am many surprise me in saying they found me intimidating or even a little cold, but I recognize this as a reaction to a cultural stigma regarding how I look, my intelligence, etc, and in turn my response has been cultivated over time to weed out a lot BS that tends to fly in the general direction of women, minorities and empathic individuals. It’s second nature, but it’s not unconscious. As soon as a legitimate humanity can be seen in another I’m all laughs and smiles. This isn’t to say I’m always moving with an impenetrable exterior though. Those observations come at-a-glance from people far away. I’ll take a good laugh any day over being offended by some passing stranger. It’s just not how I would prefer to expend the valuable and finite amount of time we each are given.

There was a time when I felt bitter about the destructive experiences, places and people that I have known. I deliberately took years off from being involved in intimate relationships and have culled my network of IRL associates more than once. Along the lines of empathy, I firmly stand behind the notion that you must define your sovereign borders before you can safely and fully share yourself with another, whether in love or friendship. Too often do you see good people trapped in a cycle of abuse or shitty relationships in which they are constantly taken advantage of. It’s not easy to move outside of this when you are smack in the middle of it. So, for a while, I do believe stepping back is necessary to acquire a clear view. The important thing is to not get lost in isolation or regret when you take this much needed reprieve. Eventually, you need to come back to world and put yourself out there again. Just listen to your intuition, not your pain. The pain will seem more real, but in the end it’s your intuition that is, and it takes a great deal of courage to follow it.

Not to get cliché, but to put it simply, “Haters gonna hate, cheaters gonna cheat.” It’s up to you to integrate past experiences as wisdom. When wisdom is combined with intuition you should have all the discerning power you need to navigate through conniving behavior. It’s true, there are some terrible people on this planet, and you may have had to deal with more than your fair share, but there are also good souls here as well. As long as you are caught up in bitterness or distrust you will only find more of the same. I know it might seem like a vicious catch-22, but that’s how the law of attraction operates unconsciously when people allow their inner demons to run amok. Refer back to any cycles of abuse you may be familiar with for clarification.

Sending love and uplifting vibrations to you and your path. Stay the course and keep moving forward. Look back to know where you came from, but never stop living.
